To mark the official launch of Billboard Africa, I was brought on to create a fast-paced, cinematic sizzle reel made from archive footage that captured the spirit, ambition and cultural significance of this new platform.
The reel weaves together bold visuals, celebrations of African and diasporic creativity, and iconic cultural references to introduce Billboard Africa as a powerful new voice in the global music landscape. The film premiered at SXSW London, introducing the brand to an international audience of tastemakers and industry leaders.
Why it matters:
The launch of Billboard Africa is a major milestone in recognising Africa’s global impact on music and culture. This project was about more than just visuals, it was about legacy. As African artists continue to top charts and sell out stadiums worldwide, this sizzle reel served as a visual declaration that Billboard Africa is here to document, amplify and celebrate that rise. I’m proud to have played a role in shaping the visual identity of this historic moment.
