As part of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, I joined the Queen’s Baton Relay (QBR) team, tasked with leading digital content creation and strategy for a global, 294-day journey through all 72 nations and territories of the Commonwealth.

As part of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, I joined the Queen’s Baton Relay (QBR) team, tasked with leading digital content creation and strategy for a global, 294-day journey through all 72 nations and territories of the Commonwealth.
My role blended storytelling, social strategy and production. From launching and scaling the TikTok account, to documenting inspiring stories from Batonbearers around the world. I created, edited and curated visual content across Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and LinkedIn. This resulted in driving major growth and engagement with international audiences.
Highlights:
- Launched the official Commonwealth Sport TikTok, growing it to 220,000+ followers and achieving over 70 million views
- Grew the Birmingham 2022 Instagram account from 20K to over 67.5K followers
- Produced social-first video content and digital storytelling across multiple time zones and cultures
- Interviewed and filmed Batonbearers and elite athletes across the Commonwealth to spotlight community stories
- Supported international activations and mass audience events throughout the Relay
- Helped develop the organisation's master content plan and integrated marketing efforts
- Balanced dual roles: digital content creation + logistical event planning and delivery
Why This Matters:
This campaign was about more than sport, it was about unity, heritage and celebration. I’m proud to have played a creative role in bringing that global narrative to life and this project marks a defining moment in my career as a storyteller, filmmaker and as a Brummie!
