Overview
Created to announce Christopher Ellis’ headline show at the Jazz Cafe. Like Father Like Son follows Chris and his son on a symbolic journey through London, retracing the footsteps of his late father, reggae icon Alton Ellis. The film blends legacy, love and generational connection, building to the reveal of the Jazz Cafe, “Christopher Ellis sings Alton Ellis.”
Creative Approach
Shot in a nostalgic 4:3 aspect ratio, the piece mixes cinematic compositions with intimate, documentary-style moments on the Underground. Natural lighting, warm tones and subtle sound design. An archival Alton Ellis track helps bridge past and present.
Why It Matters
A heartfelt tribute to heritage, the film captures a full-circle moment for the Ellis family and reflects the power of music, memory and legacy across generations.
