Overview
Macmillan Open House was a two-day pop-up created as a safe, welcoming space for open conversations around cancer, culture and community. Co-created with Black and South Asian communities, the event explored themes including mental health, money, food, faith, fear, family, hope, loss and love. It encouraged honest dialogue around lived experiences of cancer.
As part of the post-production team, I was responsible for editing four panel snippet films (1–2 minutes each), distilling long-form discussions into focused, compelling highlights. Each film drew from a three-camera setup and roaming camera. Balancing close, intimate moments with wider contextual shots to capture the depth and humanity of the conversations.
Why It Matters
This project demonstrates my ability to work sensitively within community-led and purpose-driven spaces. The panel films helped extend the reach of Macmillan Open House beyond the event itself — preserving meaningful conversations and making them accessible to wider audiences through Macmillan’s digital channels.
