Overview:
Commissioned by Rise Productions, I was tasked with capturing the energy of Birmingham’s B-Side Hip Hop Festival 2025. This was a free, city-wide celebration of Hip-Hop marking its 10th anniversary. Taking place across the Birmingham Hippodrome, Southside, the Bullring and Grand Central, the festival paid homage to all four pillars of Hip-Hop: Breakin’, graffiti, DJing and MCing. All whilst spotlighting both emerging and legendary artists.
Highlights:
- The opening of "The Epic Story of Graffiti Through The Lens Of Henry Chalfant", a major UK premiere at the Bullring featuring immersive projections and iconic stills from Subway Art.
- Live performances, dance battles, workshops and the general atmosphere across all three festival days.
- Crowd engagement, community moments and cutaways that represented the heart of Birmingham’s Hip-Hop community.
Deliverables:
- A 60-second highlight video that captured the festival’s diverse activities, iconic moments and cultural depth. This was optimised for social sharing and digital campaigns.
