Overview:
UNBOXED: Creativity in the UK was an ambitious, once-in-a-generation programme featuring 10 major commissions across the UK, designed to showcase the power of creativity, science and community. It spanned 107 locations, involved over 6,000 creatives and reached 18+ million people through live events, broadcast and digital content.
As a lead content creator and filmmaker, I worked across the entire programme, helping to develop and execute creative strategies to tell the stories behind each commission. From scripting to shooting, editing to delivery, I helped shape the programme’s visual identity and brought its vision to life through meaningful digital storytelling.
Highlights:
- Directed and edited content across all 10 UNBOXED commissions, ranging from immersive art installations to national science-led storytelling campaigns
- Developed creative treatments, scripts, storyboards and moodboards that shaped campaign output
- Produced mini-documentaries showcasing individuals and communities behind the commissions
- Filmed and edited UNBOXED’s highest-performing social media post, organically reaching 50,000+ viewers
- Collaborated with agencies and marketing managers to align creative delivery with campaign objectives
- Assisted in launching national-level digital content for Instagram, TikTok and Twitter under tight deadlines
- Directed live video/audio crews across various event formats and creative environments
Why It Matters:
This project was about collective imagination and rethinking how the UK celebrates its creative and cultural identity. My role allowed me to blend storytelling with strategy, engage with diverse communities and contribute meaningfully to a historic national programme.
